Direct answer

No, K-A-2 is not a valid standard Indian Rummy sequence. Ace may be low in A-2-3 or high in Q-K-A, provided all cards share one suit. It cannot wrap from King through Ace back to Two. Treat K-A-2 as three ungrouped cards unless your room explicitly publishes a different house rule.

Compare the three Ace patterns

A sequence needs consecutive ranks in one suit. Ace sits at one end of the rank order; it does not connect the high end and low end into a circle.

Valid low Ace
A♥2♥3♥
Valid high Ace
Q♣K♣A♣
Invalid wrap
K♠A♠2♠

Why the wrap is invalid

Write the low-Ace order as A-2-3-4 and the high-Ace order as J-Q-K-A. K-A-2 would require Ace to be high and low inside the same meld. Standard Indian Rummy does not let one Ace take both positions at once. The three cards therefore fail the consecutive-rank test even though the suit matches.

This rule also means Q-K-A-2 is not a valid four-card sequence. You may be able to use Q-K-A as one valid sequence and move the Two into another group, but a physical card cannot be duplicated to complete both.

Check it at the practice table

  1. Sort by suit so the Ace and its neighbouring ranks appear together.
  2. Read from the Ace outward: A-2-3 on the low side or Q-K-A on the high side.
  3. Reject any group that crosses from King through Ace to Two.
  4. Make sure the three cards are the same suit; A♥-2♣-3♥ is invalid for a second reason.
  5. Confirm the room’s displayed rules before declaring. An app may use labels or tutorials that differ, but it should state any house variation.

Use the Play & Learn practice room to rehearse the visual check without treating virtual scores as cash. The learning goal is to identify the Ace boundary quickly, not to chase a result.
